8 oz home brewed chai (room temperature or cool)*
one persimmon
one sliced pear
a cup of frozen peach slices
a tablespoon of ground flaxseeds
a teaspoon of chili powder
a dash of cinnamon
Throw it all in a blender and hit ‘puree.’ voila! A tasty, slightly autumnal snack.
*There are a gazillion different ways to make a nice cup of chai. This time I used Larry’s Famous Chai (I think you can only buy this in the Santa Cruz area. It’s sold at the White Raven in Felton, CA and at New Leaf health food stores in the Santa Cruz area). I added some Redwood Chai spice mix, to create a spicy, warming, citrusy chai blend. And, extra cardamom!
